Scholarships for Students

Mayor Christenson worked to direct ARPA funds toward a $1,000 scholarship for every college-bound senior in 2022 and 2023 making pursuit of a higher education more affordable and attainable for graduating Malden seniors.

A Student-Based Health Center Opened at Malden High School

Following several years of partnership and collaboration between Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), Tufts University Family Medicine Resident at CHA, and the City of Malden – we have opened an innovative model that provides access to numerous resources, health care options, mental health and sexual reproductive health for students.

BlueBikes location added at Malden High School

Malden High School students now have an on-site bike share station to increase usage of bicycles for young people. The city has been giving away free 30-day passes to encourage ridership.

Youth Civics Council

Mayor Christenson meets with the Malden Youth Civics Council once a month, both in City Hall and at the High School, and brings City Staff to the council to make to City Hall accessible to young people in the community.
